The kids loved feeding the chipmunks and squirrels with peanuts! They had to hold very still in order for them to come near. Evey even managed a few still, sitting moments!
Carter was very patient and sometimes waited for 20 minutes at a time!
The kids set up a "chipmunk trap" with peanuts underneath. Don't worry animal lovers. They didn't stay trapped for more than a few minutes!
Uncle LaDell made "chipmunk stew" for the boys! They really bought into it and ate it as well! Uncle LaDell even showed them the raw meat that he was cutting up. It was so funny!
Evey is definitely an animal lover! She had time for all kinds! This is "Lady" who belonged to Aunt Priscilla and Uncle Paul.
She took very good care of her lending Lady her own purple jacket! Lady was a very good sport!
Shooting bebe guns together with dad was another fun activity.
Eating a pancake breakfast in the beautiful outdoors was one of my favorite activities!
Grandma was so sweet to help the girls make some cute jewelry!
I took the girls wild flower picking. We found about 15 different kinds. Ofcourse the girls loved imagining that they were wedding bouquets! You can't see it in the picture but our favorite flower turned out to be the little blue "forget-me-nots" that President Faust later talked about at the RS General Broadcast this September. I thought it was so wonderful that he loved them too! Our dear friend Lyndsi has also composed a song about his talk. We love it!
While the girls were picking flowers, our boys were hiking and fishing with dad!
It's a good thing I wasn't here at this moment! Woa, scary!
It was so exciting for the boys to catch their fish! It was tricky this year. There really weren't a lot of fish so they were praying hard to catch them! I'm so glad their prayers were answered!
Aunt Penny caught a fish that was big enough to eat, so Uncle LaDell cooked it up nice on the fire. Mmmmm, it was pretty tasty. All that butter did the trick!

The girls decided to give fishing a try. They loved it too even though nothing was caught!
Another favorite activity was roasting delicious marshmallows over the fire! Caden and Carter made me some very yummy browned ones! I coud eat one right now! Thanks boys!

Camping was a fun adventure! Can you believe that we lasted for 4 whole days! Thanks again to our sweet Hancock family! We love you all!

Your camping trip looks like so much fun Mel. The pictures are so clear and bright - it looks beautiful at the "gap." The bracelet making, fishing, feeding the squirrels - so much fun for kids!
That sure looks like a fun camping trip! Grandma and Grandpa Hancock are the cutest, so sweet how they love spending time with their grandchildren. What could be better for kids - parents playing with them all day long, fun food, animals, staying up late, sleeping in a different place... no wonder they love camping! Way to go Hancock boys catching fish, that is really neat!
