Bryce Canyon
On Labor Day weekend we headed up to Bryce Canyon. We met Shane, Laura, Allen, Shellie, Erin, and Rachael at their campsite at Duck Creek. While we were there the kids followed Shane into a hole in the ground to discover this cool cave. Curtis went with them. They had fun exploring with Shane's HUGE flashlight!
Then we headed to overlook the canyon and to have a yummy picnic lunch. Caden decided to climb this big old tree during lunch. It made me just a little nervous!
There was a 1.5 hike that went around the canyon. It looked so cool so we decided to give it a try. It was a bitter sweet experience. The bitter part - because we were spontaneous and we only had one water bottle and because the girls were a bit grumpy with going to bed late the night before, it wasn't entirely pleasant. Emery happened to scream bloody murder and cry for half of the hike with Ella joining in here and there. The sweet part - the gorgeous scenery, bubble gum smelling tree trunks, Evey being able to outhike her sisters, and Carter and Caden's happy attitudes!

Piano lessons
The theme for my piano students this year is "around the world". They earn money through practicing, memorizing, etc. to put in their wallets. For every $50 they earn, they get to move in their hot air balloon to a new country where they learn about facts, play the national anthem, and try a new food. It's been fun so far!
My own kids wanted to be a part of it so much. They have stayed motivated this way! Good job everyone!
Random play
I love to watch what my kids come up with! Emery is super inventive and creative. This is one of her set ups! It looks like she was playing with miniature cars that were game pieces from Jr. Monopoly. Good times!
Tooth Fairy time!
I thought it was so funny that she could look like an old granny! She eventually did this with her other front tooth as well! Infact, it stuck out even more!
She got this one out on her own. The other one was advised to be pulled out by dad from the orthodontist. He wrapped floss around it and snap! It came out so fast, she was shocked!

Love your cute family, Melanie! We sure do miss piano lessons at our house. Taylor is keeping up pretty well, but it's just not the same without you for her teacher. I vote we add a few more hours to the day so we don't feel so overbooked and can still do all the fun things we want to do! Can't wait to see more fun posts!

haha. I was really laughing at your hiking story! Isn't that how it goes with kids? Your pictures look so fun! We'll have to go up to bryce sometime. And I love your piano theme this year! Your are so fun and creative!!!
I love the picture of Emery's little pretend house/cabana/hawaii themed little set up she made. How cute is that. Thanks for the vacation to Bryce via your photos. We haven't been up there FOR EVER! Looks like you guys had a great time. Now only if Bentley would hurry and get to hiking age. And yes....that little girl can throw tantrums. You just wait until you see one!! HAHAHA Love ya. Enjoyed your Bryce Canyon pictures, Mel, it sure is a beautiful place! Kids certainly provide entertainment with their moods! How cool is that cave you guys found?! Good job, Evey on being such a great hiker! So glad you got a picture of the tooth! I loved how Emery had her hill billy tooth with her fairy costume at Halloween! You are such a wonderful and creative piano teacher, Mel! If my girls came to you, they would be so motivated to keep practicing so that they could visit all of the different countries. That is awesome how you have made it so much fun for your students! I can't wait to enjoy your musical talents this Christmas!
